Are you a current student, a student on a Gap year, or a recent college grad looking to advance your data analytics and software development experience? Or are you looking at a career change / re-entry to the workforce and have strong Python skills? If any of these fit your situation we have a great opportunity to get experience working with emerging technologies, datasets, and methods where you will help deliver value to LightBox customers. Past Interns have working on projects that include ML, NLP, image processing, website design, data analytics, and customer development. 

Position Status:  Temporary / Internship
Position Location: Can be located in our Shelton, CT or New York, NY office

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
  • Develop, code and manage data within an existing Agile software development life cycle
  • Document all project tasks and steps needed so that future developers can replicate or extend the project
  • Test and validate all code and output to ensure that clean code and data is delivered

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • College graduate or working towards a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Linear Algebra and Computer Programming coursework and project experience preferred
  • Available to work full-time (not to exceed 40 hours per week) for approximately 10 to 12 weeks during the Summer or part-time to full-time during the Fall or Spring academic semester.
  • Excellent communication skills in writing, presenting, informing, and active listening
  • Familiarity or demonstrated experience in:
    • Python, JavaScript or similar software languages
    • Jupyter Notebooks, R, Matlab or similar analytic environments
    • RDBMS databases such as SQL Server, PostGRESQL, or Oracle
    • Non-SQL databases such as ElasticSearch, Neo4J, or REDIS
    • Spatial or GIS datasets and functions a plus
    • Visual Studio Code, GIT, JIRA or related environments a plus
